Azerbaijan rejects OSCE's unilateral decision to send mission to region
21 October 2022 13:05
The OSCE Chairmanship and the OSCE Secretariat do not have the authority and mandate to send such a mission without the prior consent of the parties directly concerned - Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The statement came from the Azerbaijani Delegation to the OSCE in the OSCE Permanent Council during the discussion of the organisation's budget for 2023, APA reports.
Informal consultations on this issue clearly show that there is no consensus within the organisation on sending such a "needs assessment team" to the border between the two countries, the statement adds.
The document notes that Azerbaijan rejects the OSCE's unilateral decision to send a mission to the region.
