Azerbaijan's election body to update, compile unitary voting lists
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan will allocate part of its 2023 budget to updating the list of eligible voters.
According to the APA, the process of compiling a unitary list of voters for the Republic, in accordance with the electoral legislation, started at the beginning of January 2023.
The commission has been awarded with a budget of 29 million 412,764 manats (approx $17 million 290,000) for 2023 and will direct 7 million 262,044 manats (approx. $4 million 270,000) onto this task.
The compilation of a single voter list will be carried out by the precinct election commissions within the time limits stipulated by law.
In accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code, precinct electoral commissions must submit the electoral lists drawn up by the precinct to the relevant district electoral commissions no later than February 5. The district electoral commissions will hand over the primary electoral lists for the respective electoral districts to the CEC by April 5 with the commission, in turn, will draw up a single list of voters throughout the country.
This process will be completed no later than the end of May with the updated single list of voters throughout the country will be posted on the official website of the CEC.
