Azerbaijan's SOCAR expands cooperation with Slovenian firms, Bulgaria in energy sector PHOTO
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has explored opportunities to strengthen its relationship with Slovenian firms in various energy sector domains.
The discussion took place during a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and the CEO of Petrol d.d., Saso Berger, alongside Geoplin d.o.o. General Director Simon Urbanc, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between SOCAR and Slovenian companies and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
In further developments, Bulgaria has highlighted the Black Sea Energy cable project as a key element in bolstering both regional and national energy security, as well as enhancing interconnectedness.
This came to light during a meeting between Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Sofia, Huseyn Huseynov, SOCAR representatives, and Bulgaria's Minister of Energy, Zhecho Stankov.
Minister Stankov emphasized Azerbaijan's strategic partnership with Bulgaria, underlining that energy is a cornerstone of the bilateral relationship. “Azerbaijan plays a vital role as a source for diversifying natural gas supplies, thus enhancing both Bulgaria’s and the region’s energy security,” he remarked.
The talks also covered various collaborative opportunities and touched on areas of shared interest between the two nations within the energy sector. SOCAR representatives voiced their keen interest in expanding cooperation with Bulgaria in this critical field.
