Azerbaijan thwarts illegal Armenian armed formations' fortification efforts

Azerbaijani army units thwarted an attempt by illegal Armenian armed formations to set up fortifications in the direction of the Kalbajar district.

“On August 27, at about 12:30, illegal Armenian armed detachments in the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily stationed, attempted to install long-term fortification facilities in front of the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the direction of the Kalbajar district, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports. 

The conducted work was immediately stopped as a result of the urgent measures taken by the Azerbaijan Army Units, the ministry said.
