Azerbaijani Court of Appeal keeps top separatist in jail

The appeal of the now-defunct separatist Garabagh’s former state minister, Ruben Vardanyan, has not been satisfied.

Ruben Vardanyan's lawyer Afat Gaziyeva appealed against the court verdict on his detention, Trend reports, adding that his defence lawyer asked the court to cancel the preventive measure against her client.

The complaint was considered by the Baku Court of Appeal, chaired by judge Gabil Mammadov. The court upheld the verdict of the court of the first instance, considering it justified.
