Azerbaijani and Turkish Energy Ministers Parviz Shahbazov and Alparslan Bayraktar are visiting the Turkish city of Iğdır to attend the opening ceremony of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline.

“Together with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, we are in our border city of Igdir for the opening ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline,” he wrote on X, per Caliber.Az.

Bayraktar noted that the visit began with a visit to the office of Governor Erkan Turan.

“We discussed the role of our city in this strategic project, as well as the energy needs of Igdir,” the minister added.

The length of the 16-inch pipeline from Igdir to the Sadarak region of Nakchivan Autonomous Republic is 97.5 km, including the Azerbaijani section - 17.5 km, the Turkish section - 80 km. In Türkiye, the gas pipeline will be an extension of the main gas pipeline running from Eastern Anatolia to Igdir.
