Baku to host meeting of Turkic States’ Central Bank Council
Baku will host the next meeting of the Council of Central (National) Banks of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on June 4–5, according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Senior officials from the central banks of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye are expected to participate in the meeting. Representatives from Hungary and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will attend as observers, while the Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States is also expected to take part, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The meeting will serve as a platform for discussions on maintaining macroeconomic and financial stability amid global uncertainty, improving the effectiveness of monetary policy transmission, and addressing opportunities and challenges linked to digital transformation in the financial sector.
Participants are expected to exchange views on two key themes: central banks’ monetary and financial policy responses to global and regional risks in the medium term, and the development of digital financial ecosystems, including financial technologies.
The Council of Central Banks of the OTS member states was established in 2024 to strengthen cooperation in areas such as monetary policy, financial stability, payment systems, and financial technology. Its inaugural meeting was held in Astana in 2025.
