Belarus seeks broader industrial partnership with Azerbaijan, deputy PM says
Belarus is looking to broaden industrial cooperation with Azerbaijan, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich said during a Belarus–Azerbaijan business forum.
Petkevich highlighted the complementary nature of the two countries’ economies and pointed to the strong foundation already established for bilateral trade and investment, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“We supply a range of products that Azerbaijan needs, including food products, timber, machinery, chemical industry goods, and pharmaceuticals. On the other hand, we receive goods from our partners in Azerbaijan, including fruits, nuts, wine, cognac, as well as polymer raw materials and other products,” Petkevich said.
She noted that Belarus and Azerbaijan have already launched joint industrial projects, including tractor assembly operations, and indicated that cooperation in this area is expected to expand further.
“We are counting on broader industrial cooperation. Today we have major projects in Karabakh. We are building and designing an agro-town with full infrastructure and an agricultural enterprise, which is a great honor for us,” she said.
Petkevich added that Belarus stands ready to participate in new production initiatives in Azerbaijan and contribute to the development of additional projects involving Belarusian companies.
