Deputy minister: Azerbaijan plants trees in 100 hectares of liberated lands
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, head of the working group Vugar Karimov has said that trees were planted on 100 hectares of the Azerbaijani lands liberated from the Armenian occupation.
Karimov made these remarks at a meeting of the working group on environmental issues in Aghdam, Trend reports.
“Trees included in the plan for 2023 were planted on 100 hectares of the Azerbaijani lands liberated from the Armenian occupation. This plan has already been implemented. We intend to plant trees in Fuzuli. We will plant trees on 15 hectares near the Fuzuli airport by the end of the year. According to the plan for 2023, trees will be fully planted on 100 hectares. At the same time, reforestation is underway. Reforestation accounted for 42 hectares in the Jabrayil district. Some 40 hectares of forest in Zangilan and two hectares in Fuzuli will be restored by the end of the year. Reforestation has accounted for about 85 hectares this year,” Karimov said.
“Trees were planted on more than 100 hectares in Zangilan, Jabrayil, Fuzuli and Aghdam. Moreover, forest was restored. The figures are different because the liberated lands are full of mines. We begin to work only after receiving a certificate in demining. We have planned to plant trees on 20 hectares. Trees have been already planted on 11 hectares,” the deputy minister added.
