English referees visit their prominent Azerbaijani counterpart's monument

Following the second leg of the first qualifying stage of the UEFA Champions League in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on July 12, in which the Azerbaijani Qarabag defeated 5:1 the Polish champions Lech, the referees of the match from England visited the monument to Tofig Bakhramov near the stadium

According to Oxu.Az, sports journalist Sanan Sharifzade shared the corresponding photo on his Facebook profile, depicting the referees posing for a photo in front of the prominent Azerbaijani referee’s monument.

“The English never forget Tofig Bakhramov,” Sharifzade wrote.

Tofig Bahramov was acclaimed his historical decision as a linesman that helped award a contentious goal for England in the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final against West Germany.
