Ambassador: Ukraine, Azerbaijan strengthen economic ties amid growing trade
Ukraine and Azerbaijan are deepening their economic cooperation, with bilateral trade showing steady growth and promising prospects for further collaboration, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev wrote on Facebook.
According to recent data, Ukrainian exports to Azerbaijan rose by 8.6% in the first seven months of 2025, signalling increasing demand for Ukrainian goods and reinforcing the countries’ commercial ties, Caliber.Az reports.
On September 3, an online meeting brought together representatives of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Council under the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside the President of the Poltava Chamber of Commerce, Volodymyr Borysenko.
The discussion focused on key areas of cooperation, including:
-
expanding bilateral trade and economic relations;
-
supporting and developing small and medium-sized enterprises;
-
attracting investment in promising projects;
-
facilitating the entry of Ukrainian and Azerbaijani companies into new markets.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the agreement on a plan for joint events and business missions scheduled for this autumn.
These initiatives aim to foster closer business contacts, showcase Ukrainian capabilities, and encourage Azerbaijani partners to engage in joint ventures.
Experts say Ukraine and Azerbaijan are strategic partners with considerable potential to expand trade, introduce innovations, and create new business opportunities.
Both countries are working to bring their economies closer together, opening fresh avenues for regional growth.
