EU "observers" spotted near conditional Azerbaijan-Armenia border VIDEO
The Zangilan sector of the conditional Azerbaijan-Armenia border has seen activity by members of the so-called EU observation mission, who are effectively carrying out reconnaissance operations within Armenian territory.
Azerbaijan is closely monitoring the situation using advanced technical equipment, including high-precision optical instruments, Caliber.Az reports.
⚡️The Zangilan section of the conditional border. We have always been aware of every move made by the European spies in Armenia; we simply didn’t publicise it often. Now, we will change our tactics. The EU monitoring mission on the Armenian side of the border with Azerbaijan, launched in February 2023, has faced criticism for its bias and destabilising activities. Funded with over €39 million, the mission expanded from 138 to 209 observers by late 2023 under the guise of preventing ceasefire violations.
Azerbaijan has consistently opposed the mission, viewing it as a political tool that emboldens Armenia and disrupts regional stability. Baku has accused the monitors of conducting reconnaissance rather than fostering peace and demanded their withdrawal. Armenia, meanwhile, has exploited the mission to avoid fulfilling its obligations under international agreements.
