Great Return: Dozens of former IDPs leave for Khojaly

Another migration caravan with former IDPs has left for the city of Khojaly.

The families, previously temporarily settled in hostels, sanatoriums, children's camps, unfinished and administrative buildings in the country’s different districts, left for their native lands from Garadagh district of Baku, Report informs.

At this stage, 24 families comprising 88 people have travelled to Khojaly.

As a result of the brilliant victory of the Azerbaijani army in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the former IDPs now have the opportunity to return to their homeland voluntarily, safely and with dignity after 30 years.

Residents of Khojaly city expressed gratitude to the head of state and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for all-round state care, thanked the brave Azerbaijani army for liberation of our lands from occupation, wished repose to the souls of Shehidis who died for this high goal.

It is worth noting that 44 families (169 people) have been provided with permanent residence in Khojaly, considering those who left today (May 29).
