Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk may attend astronautical conference in Baku
Tech entrepreneurs Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk could attend the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) to be held in Baku in October 2023.
According to Trend, Samaddin Asadov, the Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Space Agency which will host the congress in 2023, announced this during a meeting with ambassadors to Azerbaijan.
He further said that the event, which will be held under the slogan "Global Challenges and Opportunities: Give Space a Chance" will be attended by over 6,000 guests with representatives from industry players such as the American NASA and Boeing, French CNES and Airbus, Japan's JAXA, Turkish TUA as well as scientists and students.
The International Astronautical Federation selected Baku to host the 2022 IAC back in 2019 but had to postpone the event by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In its press announcement, the federation said, that "the IAC 2023 to be held under the theme 'Global Challenges and Opportunities: Give Space a Chance' in Azerbaijan’s capital will extend unequalled prospects for establishing strong collaborations, and will serve as a perfect occasion to reach a diverse international audience through one-of-a-kind exposure both within the region and internationally. Delving into the most recent developments in the sphere of space at the Congress, the guests and participants will also have a chance to experience the authentic culture and hospitality of Azerbaijan".
