Minister: Romania and Azerbaijan can cooperate in green energy development

Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of Romania, Energy Minister of Romania Virgil Popescu said.

According to Report, he made the remark while speaking at a conference within the Baku Energy Forum.

According to the minister, Azerbaijan and Romania could also cooperate in the development of green energy and "provide a bridge" in its production, creating a "green corridor" as a RES supply through Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further to Europe.

Popescu also said that Romania is considering the diversification of energy resources, and expressed hope for the rapid completion of the IGB (Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria) gas pipeline.
