Port of Baku, Kazakhstan Railways sign memorandum of cooperation PHOTO
A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Port of Baku and the Kazakhstan Railways National Company.
Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev, Kazakh Minister of Energy Bolat Akchulakov and Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Railways National Company Nurlan Sauranbayev took part in a working meeting in the Port of Baku, Report informs.
During the meeting, the guests met with the leadership of the Port of Baku and jointly discussed the cooperation, in particular, the issues of strengthening bilateral ties in logistics and the implementation of possible joint projects.
A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the Port of Baku and the "Kazakhstan Railways" National Company during the meeting.
Agreements on further increasing multimodal transportation along transcontinental Asia-Europe routes, development of mutual business cooperation in increasing high-speed cargo transportation by using innovative solutions in transport and logistics were reached.
The cargo turnover between the ports of both countries is growing. More than one million tons of cargo were transported from Kazakhstan through the Port of Baku for seven months of this year, which is almost 219.1 per cent more than in the same period of last year.
