President Erdogan: Türkiye, Egypt share unified stance on Palestinian issue
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that Türkiye and Egypt maintain a unified position on the Palestinian issue.
President Erdogan made these remarks after talks in Ankara with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The Turkish leader stated that Türkiye and Egypt hold a common stance on the Palestinian matter. He further criticised Israel, saying, "Israel and its accomplices are responsible for every innocent person killed in Gaza. The place for those responsible for the deaths of 41,000 people is in the courtroom, not in parliament."
Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a deadly surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, spreading terror throughout the country. The carnage triggered a fierce response from Israel, whose military launched massive retaliatory strikes on the Gaza Strip. Since then, the Palestinian enclave of 2.3 million inhabitants, under Israeli blockade since 2007, has been living under bombardment, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes.
