TotalEnergies seeks to expand cooperation with Azerbaijani companies Statement by Managing Director
The French multinational integrated energy and petroleum company TotalEnergies strives to expand cooperation with Azerbaijani companies.
The statement was made by Managing Director and Country Chairman of TotalEnergies Emmanuel De-Guillebon during the ongoing Caspian SPE Technical Conference in Baku, Trend reports.
“We have a programme to assist some universities in the educational process, and we send our employees to various areas of our activities around the world. For example, we appreciate when our Azerbaijani employees work in Africa, Europe and other regions. This way they gain experience in different fields of activity and, returning to Azerbaijan, apply this rich experience here,” De-Guillebon said.
The company’s managing directors also noted that Azerbaijan should develop local content, which involves cooperation with local companies: “We try to expand this cooperation as much as possible, but we do it in a demanding manner.”
“When working with local companies, we expect the same performance from them as from international companies. We are confident that in this way we can best serve the interests of the country, increasing the requirements for the companies we work with, contributing to increased competition and the development of industry in the country,” he added.
On November 21, the SPE Caspian Technical Conference kicked off in Baku and will run until November 23. It will bring together global industry leaders and technical experts to share perspectives on the industry and address the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
Given the key role of the Caspian region in shaping the future dynamics of global energy, this conference, organized with the assistance of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), will feature a high-level expert-selected program, panel discussions on key issues facing the region, and will provide a unique opportunity for networking with experts in the field of oil and gas production.
The program will include an assessment of the current situation and will offer important discussions for investors, operators, representatives of service companies and government agencies in the region.
