Turkish, Russian presidents to discuss gas discounts
Türkiye plans to discuss a natural gas discount with Russia in preparation for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to the country.
Türkiye is and has always been a reliable consumer of Russian gas, TASS reports, citing a local diplomatic source.
"The authorities of the republic said earlier that they expect more reasonable prices for it, including in light of plans to create a gas hub. This is planned to be discussed at talks in preparation for the Russian president's visit to Türkiye," he said.
According to the source, this agreement may be reached in Ankara during the Russian president's visit. He noted that in January, a delegation from Türkiye's state-owned oil and gas company Botas visited Russia to hold talks on the creation of a hub.
