Türkiye drives major reconstruction projects in Azerbaijan's Karabakh, minister says
At the 7th Azerbaijan–Georgia–Türkiye Business Forum in Georgia’s Kakheti region, Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat highlighted the growing trilateral cooperation between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Emphasizing infrastructure development and economic integration, Bolat underscored Türkiye’s role in major reconstruction projects in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region and broader regional initiatives.
Addressing the forum, Bolat emphasized the importance of deepening economic integration among the three nations, noting Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish cooperation stands as a model of strategic partnership for countries worldwide, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, transportation, maritime and airport operations, information technology, and artificial intelligence is of great importance. The main task of governments is to create a favorable business environment and eliminate existing barriers in investment and trade,” he said.
The minister noted that neighboring countries tend to strengthen trade ties with their closest partners, making closer economic integration between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia a strategic priority.
Bolat stressed that trilateral cooperation is founded not only on good-neighborly relations but also on friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance, with the countries functioning as interdependent economic partners.
Highlighting Turkish contributions, he said that companies from Türkiye have completed more than 500 construction projects in Azerbaijan and 305 projects in Georgia. The total value of projects in Azerbaijan has approached $18 billion, including major infrastructure and reconstruction initiatives in the Karabakh region aimed at rehabilitating territories following Azerbaijan’s victory.
In Georgia, Turkish construction firms have completed 305 projects with a combined value of $3.5 billion.
Looking ahead, Bolat said cooperation among the three nations is expected to expand further in transport, energy, and tourism sectors.
“This interaction makes a significant contribution to the economic development of the region,” he added, underlining the strategic importance of the trilateral partnership.
