UNESCO agency's senior delegation visits Karabakh PHOTO
A delegation of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), operating under UNESCO, has started visiting the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
The guests are now in the liberated city of Aghdam, where they will be informed about the atrocities committed by the Armenian armed forces during the nearly 30-year occupation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertag.
As reported, the ICOMOS senior staff will also get acquainted with the reconstruction work the Azerbaijani government has been carrying out since the liberation of Aghdam from Armenia's occupation.
In addition, the delegation will participate in an international scientific conference entitled "The Role of UNESCO Conventions in the Preservation of Cultural Property and Aspects of Enhancing their Implementation" to be held in Baku on December 8.
The conference is organised by ICOMOS Azerbaijan National Committee, the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO, ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee and the Institute of Development and Diplomacy of ADA University.
