Western Azerbaijan Community slams Armenia's refusal to recognise Azerbaijanis' right to return
The Western Azerbaijan Community has strongly condemned Armenia's ongoing violations of human rights, particularly its refusal to recognise the Western Azerbaijanis' right to return to their ancestral lands.
The statement was made on the occasion of World Human Rights Day, marked globally today, Caliber.Az reports.
The community highlighted the continued ethnic and religious discrimination by several foreign countries against Azerbaijanis, which it deems as a gross injustice.
The statement also addressed the troubling policies of some foreign nations that foster Azerbaijanophobia: "The fact that these countries are pursuing discriminatory policies and fostering Azerbaijanophobia under the guise of human rights is deeply concerning. We strongly condemn this fundamentally racist approach and pledge to do everything in our power to expose such actions."
The statement further welcomed the restoration of rights to hundreds of thousands of former internally displaced persons following the end of Armenia's 30-year occupation, and praised President Ilham Aliyev for his efforts to ensure the peaceful return of displaced Azerbaijanis to their ancestral homeland.
In conclusion, the Western Azerbaijan Community called on the international community to support their just cause, emphasizing that such support would make a meaningful contribution to the fulfillment of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
