Armenia's Justice Ministry denies validity of cadastral certificates issued to Kirants residents
Armenia’s Ministry of Justice has stated that cadastral certificates for real estate to residents of Tavush’s (Tovuzgala - ed.) Kirants village (Guney - ed.) were issued by mistake in the past.
This is how the ministry reacted to a recent interview given by Vardan Poghosyan, an expert in the field of constitutional law, to a media outlet, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
In it, Poghosyan, as an argument in favour of the “illegality of evicting villagers from their homes” within the framework of border delimitation, stated that the villagers have cadastral certificates, which means these territories belong to the Republic of Armenia.
"It should be recorded that the state registration of the relevant rights was made based on incorrect data. This registration cannot be a legal basis for claims that these plots are part of the sovereign territory of Armenia," the Justice Ministry said.
