Armenian Defence Ministry to receive $17 million for "unforeseen expenses" Pashinyan's generous gesture

Armenia's Defence Ministry will receive about 6.7 billion drams (just over $17 million) in additional funds.

Caliber.Az reports with reference to Armenian media that the decree on this was adopted at a meeting of the Armenian government on July 20.

According to the explanatory note, the ministry has unforeseen expenses of a priority nature.

It should be noted that the republic's defence budget for 2023 is planned at 506 billion drams (about $1.31 billion) or 35 per cent higher than in 2022.
