Azerbaijan discloses number of population
Azerbaijan’s population has made up 10,135,373 people as of March 1, 2023 (excluding the population on the territory, where a Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed).
The population number per square kilometre in the country amounted to 117 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
According to the data, 54.6 per cent of the population are urban residents, 45.4 per cent are rural residents, 49.8 per cent are men and 50.2 per cent are women. There are currently an average of 1,010 women for every 1,000 men.
From January to February this year, 19,158 newborns were registered by the district (town) registration offices of the Ministry of Justice, with a rate of 11.7 per 1,000 population. Among the newborns, the share of boys was 53.2 per cent and the share of girls was 46.8 per cent.
