Azerbaijan eyes to further expand cooperation with Switzerland
Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov has said that Azerbaijan is interested in further expansion of cooperation with Switzerland.
Mammadov made these remarks at an event dedicated to the Swiss National Day, Report informs.
“Azerbaijan pays big attention to relations with Switzerland and is interested in further expansion of cooperation,” the deputy minister said, noting that over 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, cooperation has been dynamically developing in various fields.
He reminded that Swiss companies are involved in the restoration of the liberated Azerbaijani territories, and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is well represented in Switzerland.
In turn, Charge d’affaires of Switzerland in Azerbaijan Alexander Hoffet noted that during six months of his activity in Azerbaijan, he had the opportunity to travel around the country and see all the richness of Azerbaijani culture.
He noted that there are similar features between Azerbaijan and Switzerland, both countries are multinational, have beautiful nature and are attractive to tourists.
Hoffet stressed the growth in trade turnover and mutual investments between Azerbaijan and Switzerland after the COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that the potential for the development of economic cooperation is still great.
