Azerbaijan, Gambia ink political consultation agreement PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Gambia have taken a significant step toward enhancing bilateral ties with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on political consultations, Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, and his Gambian counterpart, Mamadou Tangara, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the talks, the ministers underlined the considerable potential for cooperation between the two nations, especially within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). The sides agreed on the importance of deepening collaboration to address global challenges and promote shared interests on the international stage.
Particular emphasis was placed on the development of new mechanisms and initiatives to strengthen economic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Gambia. The ministers expressed a shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors, viewing it as a strategic move toward fostering greater regional and international engagement.
