Azerbaijan–Georgia trade tops $624 million, up 9% in 2025
Economic ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia continue to strengthen, with bilateral trade surpassing $623.9 million in the first nine months of 2025 — a 9.2% increase compared with the same period last year, according to data released by the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and reported by Caliber.Az.
The figures highlight the steady expansion of regional economic cooperation in the South Caucasus, where Azerbaijan and Georgia remain key partners in energy transit, logistics, and trade.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Georgia accounted for the bulk of trade, totalling $495.46 million between January and September — a 2% year-on-year rise. Exports represented 2.66% of Azerbaijan’s total trade volume, up from 2.45% during the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, imports from Georgia showed particularly strong momentum, surging by 50% to reach $128.52 million. The share of Georgian imports in Azerbaijan’s total trade grew from 0.59% last year to 0.77% in 2025.
The uptick reflects deepening commercial integration between the two neighbors, whose economies are closely linked through infrastructure such as the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway and regional energy projects. Analysts note that continued growth in bilateral trade underscores both countries’ strategic roles as economic and transit hubs connecting the Caspian region with Europe.
With trade on an upward trajectory, Baku and Tbilisi appear poised to further expand cooperation in sectors ranging from energy and transport to agriculture and tourism — reinforcing their long-standing partnership as cornerstones of South Caucasus stability and connectivity.
