Azerbaijan hosts meeting of Organisation of Turkic States’ think tanks in Shusha

The opening ceremony of an extraordinary meeting of the think tanks of the Turkic countries has been held in Azerbaijan’s liberated Shusha city.

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani Centre of Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation of Turkic States Gismat Gozalov, experts and analysts from the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States are participating in the event, Report informs.

While delivering a speech at the opening ceremony on July 3, Shafiyev said that the issues of strengthening cooperation between the Turkic countries are on the agenda.

He noted that important events have been recently occurring in the Turkic world, namely, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Uzbekistan, the creation of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-Türkiye platform and others.

For his part, Gozalov noted that it is pleasant to hold such an event in Shusha.

“The Organisation of Turkic States supported Azerbaijan during the second Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh war by condemning the Armenian vandalism,” he added.

Gozalov noted that the Organisation of Turkic States is trying to fulfil its mission, calling for peace and security in the 21st century amid wars and conflicts in the world.

 “The victory of the Azerbaijani army in the second Karabakh war and the Turkic countries’ support for Azerbaijan shows the strength of the Organisation of Turkic States. The Shusha Declaration not only brought the Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations to a new level but became a symbol of the brotherhood and will of the two Turkic countries,” he said.
