Azerbaijan sees steady oil, gas output in first quarter of 2026
Azerbaijan produced 6.6 million tons of crude oil (including condensate) in January–March 2026, with most output coming from major offshore fields, according to operational data released for the period.
The largest contribution came from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli complex, which produced 3.9 million tons, followed by 0.9 million tons from Shah Deniz and 0.1 million tons from the Absheron field. State energy company SOCAR accounted for 1.7 million tons, Caliber.Az reports via the Energy Ministry data.
During the same period, Azerbaijan exported 5.2 million tons of oil (including condensate), of which 4.8 million tons came from international consortia, 0.3 million tons from SOCAR, and 0.1 million tons from JOCAP.
Average daily crude oil production stood at 61,000 tons (about 450,000 barrels), while condensate output averaged 13,000 tons (105,000 barrels), bringing total daily oil production to 74,000 tons (555,000 barrels). Oil refining during the quarter totaled 1.4 million tons.
On the gas side, Azerbaijan produced 12.6 billion cubic metres (bcm) of natural gas in the first quarter. Output included 3.5 bcm from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 6.9 bcm from Shah Deniz, 0.4 bcm from Absheron, and 1.8 bcm from SOCAR.
Gas exports reached 6.5 bcm, with 3 bcm supplied to Europe, 2.4 bcm to Türkiye (including 1.5 bcm via TANAP), 0.8 bcm to Georgia, and 0.3 bcm to Syria.
Since the start of production at Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz, cumulative output has reached nearly 675 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 519 bcm of gas as of April 1, 2026. Over the same period, 673 million tons of oil and 196.5 bcm of gas have been exported.
