Azerbaijan strongly rejects Iran parliament’s unfounded accusations
Azerbaijan strongly rejects the Iranian parliament’s unfounded accusations.
The statement came from Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, Report informs.
Everyone should know that Azerbaijan is an independent state, and how it builds relations with other countries is its internal business, Gafarova added.
"No one has the right to interfere with Azerbaijan’s sovereign rights. We strongly reject the unfounded accusations made by the Iranian parliament against our country. We call on the Iranian parliament to stop such provocations against Azerbaijan and refrain from actions that could damage bilateral relations," the speaker stressed.
She noted that on April 5, a biased political action against Azerbaijan was organised in the Iranian parliament and a statement based on false and fabricated accusations was adopted.
"Unfortunately, Iran, which has never protested to Armenia, which has held Azerbaijani lands under occupation for [about] 30 years, brutally plundered the wealth of our people, and even supported it in various ways, is concerned about the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel today," the speaker noted.
