Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council (Parliament) of Qatar, Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa al-Hassan al-Mohannadi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Mohamed Abdi Hayir, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of Somalia, Anila Denaj, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Albania, accredited ambassadors from foreign countries in Qatar, as well as representatives of regional and international agricultural organizations attended the opening ceremony.
While speaking at the event, Qatar's Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya emphasized that this year's exhibition holds special significance within Qatar National Vision 2030 programme. The exhibition aims to promote the development of an integrated agricultural system based on innovative solutions to boost local production, support farmers, strengthen international partnerships, and increase crop yields.
The Qatari minister added that, over the past five years, significant progress in agricultural production has been achieved through the joint efforts of the public and private sectors. The country has seen a 50 per cent increase in vegetable production, a 97 per cent rise in dairy products, and a 98 per cent growth in fresh poultry and table eggs. This demonstrates that Qatar is now able to meet its own needs in these areas. At the initiative of the Azerbaijani embassy and through the support of the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency, the Azerbaijan Trade House in Qatar set up a booth at AgriteQ 2025.
The Azerbaijani stand features domestically produced agricultural products, including seasonal fruits, nuts, dried fruits, honey, various types of tea, saffron, jams, fruit juices, as well as pickled and canned vegetables. Kalbajar’s mineral water "Istisu" was showcased for the first time at such a prestigious international exhibition in Doha. This water was offered to guests visiting the Azerbaijani booth. The products presented at Azerbaijan's national booth attracted significant interest from visitors.
The quality, packaging, and taste of the products made in Azerbaijan were highly praised by Qatari businessmen, who emphasized the importance of importing these products to Qatar. The AgriteQ 2025 international exhibition will run until February 8.
