Azerbaijani, Turkish seismological centres discuss cooperation
Azerbaijani and Turkish seismological centres have discussed prospects of cooperation.
On April 6, a group of employees from the Republican Seismic Survey Centre of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) visited the Earthquake Department of the Türkiye Disaster and Management Authority (AFAD), Report informs.
The delegation led by Director-General of the Republican Seismic Survey Centre, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli met Head of the Department of Earthquakes, Professor Orhan Tatar.
The cooperation issues between the seismological centres of the two fraternal countries, the devastating earthquake that occurred in Türkiye on February 6, 2023, and its consequences, as well as the upcoming geophysical and seismic studies of Azerbaijani seismologists in the earthquake zone, were discussed at the meeting.
After discussions, Azerbaijani seismologists went to the earthquake zone.
Azerbaijani specialists will review the situation on deep faults in the earthquake area, as well as assess the territory where the construction process will be carried out.
