Azercosmos chairman: Azerbaijani satellites can be launched into orbit from Falcon rockets
Azerbaijan's new satellites can be launched into orbit from the Falcon rockets of the US company SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corporation).
Chairman of the Board of the Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov made the statement, Report informs citing him as saying.
According to him, discussions were held with Gwynne Shotwell, president, and chief operating officer of SpaceX, who is visiting Azerbaijan:
"Azerbaijan is preparing to implement new satellite projects in the coming years. In this meeting, we discussed the possibilities of launching new satellites of Azerbaijan into orbit from Falcon rockets and the participation of SpaceX in the International Astronautical Congress to be held in Baku, as well as organizational issues at the highest level."
Moreover, President and Chief Operating Officer of SpaceX, Gwynne Shotwell has said that the Space Agency (Azerkosmos) will support the service of broadband satellite Internet Starlink of the American company SpaceX in the corporate sector and maritime transport.
According to her, the company can also provide Internet access to individuals in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
"Everyone in the country can get access to high-speed Internet, and we look forward to this opportunity for the Azerbaijani people.
It should be noted that a cooperation agreement was signed between the Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the American company SpaceX on May 9 in Baku.
