Court of Appeal rejects Georgian ex-president’s appeal for release

Georgian ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili's companion Ekaterine Kherkheulidze has written that the Tbilisi Court of Appeal upheld the court's decision to reject Georgian ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili’s appeal for release due to health reasons.

“The Court of Appeal considered in absentia Saakashvili’s case on release for health reasons and upheld the decision of the court of first instance,” Kherkheulidze wrote on her Facebook page, according to Gazeta.Ru.

The court rejected Saakashvili’s appeal for release on health grounds on February 6.
