Envoy: Ukraine grateful to Azerbaijan for help in difficult times

Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladyslav Kanevskyy has said Ukraine is grateful for the assistance provided by Azerbaijan.

"The friendship of Azerbaijan and Ukraine has been tested by history. In the most difficult moments, our countries helped each other. Today we feel great support from Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people. This is both humanitarian aid and assistance in rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure in Ukraine. To date, the Azerbaijani government has already allocated more than $30 million for these purposes. We are very grateful that an additional amount of $7.6 million was allocated recently by order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev," Report quotes the ambassador as saying.

He emphasised that the recently allocated amount will be used to restore Ukraine's energy sector.

"We are very grateful that last winter many Ukrainians were able to survive the cold weather thanks to Azerbaijani assistance," the diplomat added.
