FM: Azerbaijan still waiting for Armenia’s response on peace agreement elements

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried held a phone talk on October 28, 2022.

During the phone talk, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as on various issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az on October 28.

Bayramov informed about the current situation in the region, various directions in the process of normalising relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijan's position and proposals on launching the work on a future peace treaty, as well as the steps taken by Azerbaijan.

The minister noted that Azerbaijan still expects to get a response from the Armenian side regarding the elements of the peace agreement presented following the Geneva meeting.

In turn, Donfried emphasised US support for efforts to bring peace and stability to the region, as well as the importance of advancing the peace process in accordance with the agreements reached between leaders and ministers.
