Georgia closes roads for trucks moving to Armenia, Türkiye Due to heavy snowfall

The Roads Department of the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has decided to close the roads for trailers and semi-trailers moving in the direction of the borders with Armenia and Türkiye due to heavy snowfall.

“The movement of trailers and semi-trailers is prohibited on the Khashuri - Akhaltsikhe - Vale international highway [border with Türkiye] and Akhaltsikhe - Ninotsminda international highway [border with Armenia] due to heavy snowfall and icy roads,” TASS reports citing the ministry. 

“Thus, 30-seater vehicles and vehicles with more than 30 seats are also prohibited from moving as opposed to other vehicles,” the Roads Department noted.
