Great-grandson of Iravan Khan visits Panahali Khan palace in Shusha PHOTO
Great-grandson of Iravan Khan Amir Ali Sardari Irevani has visited Azerbaijan’s cultural capital Shusha as part of his trip to the Karabakh region.
During the visit to the ruined palace of the founder of the Karabakh khanate, Panahali Khan, without hiding his depression, Amir Ali Sardari Irevani shared his impressions with the Diaspor TV program “The Motherland is not far away”.
“Look at the Panahali Khan palace in Shusha! He was also a relative of the Iravan Khan. This palace, which is our cultural heritage, is in such a state today”, the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora told Caliber.Az.
The descendant of the khan's family also noted that the Panahali khan palace can be rebuilt, which cannot be said about the Irevan khan palace.
“I have no words. Look what they've done with this legacy. However, I really hope that in the future everything will be fine again in Shusha, and maybe in Iravan as well,” Amir Ali Sardari Irevani said.
During the meeting with the Special Representative of the Azerbaijani president in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov, the guest was informed about the creative work being carried out in Shusha. The activity of the Azerbaijani diaspora, and the process of organising trips of its representatives to Karabakh, including Shusha, were highly appreciated.
He spoke about the clan he represents, noted that he was glad to be in Karabakh liberated from occupation, and thanked the special representative for the hospitality.
Amir Ali Sardari Irevani, who made a trip to our cultural capital through the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, visited the Jidir Duzu (Jidir Plain), the “Shot Monuments”, the place of signing the Shusha Declaration, the Ganja Gates and other sights, reviewed the reconstruction and improvement work in our ancient city in the post-war period.
