Iran names culprit for delaying nuclear deal conclusion
The political engagement and line of conduct of the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi is the main obstacle to reaching agreements on the resumption of the Iranian nuclear deal in the format of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The Director General of the agency "continues to adhere to a politicized and unrelated to the technical side of the problem position, which has always been one of the main obstacles to resolving existing differences", a source close to Iran's Supreme National Security Council said, Lenta.ru reports citing the Iranian Nour News portal.
At the stage of negotiations when the parties are trying to finalise the agreements on the restoration of the JCPOA, Grossi "once again stands in opposition”. Thus, the portal writes, it again asks Tehran to provide information when "Iran has already given all the necessary information and access for the IAEA" to its facilities.
“He [Grossi] again turns to be an oppositionist, despite the good intentions shown by Iran, and does this based on undocumented reports received from the Israeli side,” the agency’s source said.
Thus, the portal concludes, Grossi "with his unconstructive position remains the main obstacle to the finalisation of negotiations on the lifting of sanctions against Iran".
