Kremlin spokesman says no new information on Putin-Trump meeting
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there was no new information regarding the meeting between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
“Before discussing the platform for the meeting, it is necessary to decide on the meeting itself. There is no news here,’ Peskov told a Russian media outlet, as per Caliber.Az.
This is how he commented on the Reuters report that the Russian side is considering the UAE and Saudi Arabia as possible venues for Putin and Trump's talks.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE did not respond to requests for comment. Both Trump and Putin have developed friendly relations with rulers of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
On February 2, Trump said that his administration had "meetings and talks scheduled with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia." When asked about those remarks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that contacts were “apparently planned”.
