Meduza: FSB officers summon citizens who leave Russia for interrogation
Russian Federal Security Service (FSS) officers summon family members of Russians who have left the country for interrogation and persuade them to return their relatives to Russia. According to Meduza, this was reported by the human rights project First Department. Its members are aware of five such cases.
Human rights activists said that since the beginning of the war, people began to contact them, against whom the FSS tried to open cases - the service officers carried out operational-search measures, but so far no charges have been brought.
To such people, the “First Department” clarifies, the security forces verbally stated that they were looking for traitors, spies and “accomplices of the SBU (Ukraininan Security Service)”. After that, many of them managed to leave Russia.
“But now their relatives are being invited to interviews at the FSB. The security forces summon family members for questioning and persuade them to return their relatives to Russia. Apparently, someone really wants a promotion for finding “spies,” human rights activists report.
