MFA expresses gratitude to supporting nations for Azerbaijan's ECOSOC election

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan extends its appreciation to the countries that backed Azerbaijan during the elections for the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the term 2025-2027, as per Report.

According to the ministry's statement, Azerbaijan's successful election by a majority vote underscores the nation's esteemed standing on the global stage.

"We extend our gratitude to all nations that lent their support to Azerbaijan in these elections. As in previous tenures within ECOSOC, the Republic of Azerbaijan remains committed to fostering international peace and development in alignment with the UN Charter's principles and objectives," the report stated.

Having secured 148 votes this time, Azerbaijan previously held ECOSOC membership from 2003-2005 and 2017-2019.
