Minister: Azerbaijan exported 2.5 million tonnes of oil to Indonesia
Azerbaijan supplied around 2.5 million tonnes of crude oil to Indonesia between 2022 and 2025, according to the country’s energy minister, Parviz Shahbazov.
Speaking at the first meeting of energy ministers from D-8 member states in Baku, Shahbazov said the exports were carried out by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), underlining expanding energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Asia, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He also said negotiations between SOCAR and Petrobangla on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to Bangladesh have been concluded.
“We consider cooperation with Nigeria, which has Africa’s largest gas reserves, to be promising,” Shahbazov said, signalling potential future partnerships in the gas sector.
The minister added that Azerbaijan had supplied more than 1.3 million tonnes of LNG to Egypt, noting that energy dialogue between Baku and Cairo has “reached a new level” in recent years.
