Presidential aide: Azerbaijan receives $300 billion in investments
The funds of the State Oil Fund have exceeded $50 billion, Assistant to Azerbaijani President on economic issues Shahmar Movsumov has said.
The official made the remarks at the international conference “Shaping the Geopolitics of the Greater Eurasia: from Past to Present to Future”, APA reports.
In comparison, the official underlined that the number was $270 million dollars at the start of the fund’s activity.
“Over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan's GDP has increased 3.6 times, and investments in the economy have grown four times. More than $300 billion of investments came into the country from various sectors. Any numbers are measured in times, not in percentages. Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for this, and Ilham Aliyev is currently continuing this work,” Movsumov stressed.
