Pundit: Armenia lacks allies, enemies on the rise
Armenia, instead of gaining allies, is inadvertently creating enemies through anti-Russian actions and inappropriate statements, particularly evident in the recent event honouring Armenian poet and communist activist Missak Manouchian in Paris.
Vahe Hovhannisyan, political scientist and a member of the Alternative Projects group, made the remark while talking to Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
"Instead of allies, Armenia gets sympathisers. The honouring of Misak Manushyan in Paris was accompanied by a new wave of anti-Russian actions and inappropriate statements that would not add an ally, but precisely an enemy. With our own hands, we are increasing the number of ‘bulls' [fierce enemies] formed by Nikol," he said.
"We are turning potential ally Russia into an enemy. A potential ally France into a compassionate France, we are on the way to forming a new enemy of a potential ally Iran, or at least an observer.
We will be wrong enough to get an unfriendly country from Georgia as a new little "bullhorn" from the outside.
Only Nikol’s Armenia can officially welcome the regional format 3+2, but emphasise European observers, which are opposed by all the same states in the region," the political analyst said.
