Shusha’s Turshusu settlement to welcome 50 new houses in initial stage of reconstruction PHOTO
In a bid to revitalize the Turshusu settlement in the Shusha district, plans are underway to construct 50 houses in the initial phase of reconstruction, with a grand total of 353 houses slated for development.
During a visit to the Turshusu settlement by AZERTAC regional correspondent, project manager Elnur Abdullayev outlined the ambitious reconstruction project. Situated at the foothills of the Mount Kichik Kirs at an altitude of 1,938 meters above sea level, the settlement spans a total area of 126.46 hectares. Initial efforts will focus on reconstructing 79.37 hectares of land, with the first stage of construction set to accommodate 50 families, totaling 202 individuals.
The housing plan comprises a variety of dwellings, including two-room, three-room, four-room, and five-room houses. Additionally, alongside private residences, amenities such as a school, kindergarten, medical center, administrative building, and other facilities are set to be established. Currently, construction sites and roads are undergoing expansion in preparation for the settlement's rejuvenation.
Anticipation runs high for the return of Turshusu's residents to their homeland later this year. Moreover, the village boasts significant tourism potential, with its pristine mountain climate, location along the Zarysli River, and nearby mineral spring laying the foundation for future tourism development. As part of the settlement's reconstruction, plans include the creation of a tourist (resort) zone alongside residential expansion, positioning Turshusu as a potential tourist destination in the region's future.
