Azerbaijan brings home bodies of AZAL plane crash victims in special flight PHOTO
The bodies of three crew members and 21 passengers who died in the crash of an Embraer-190 aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) in Kazakhstan's Aktau city have been transported by a special flight to Baku.
The aircraft landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The crash occurred on December 25, when an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, tragically crashed near Aktau. The plane was carrying 67 people, including 37 Azerbaijanis, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals. Sadly, 38 people lost their lives in the crash, with 29 survivors.
Meanwhile, director of the Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy Association of the Ministry of Health, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Adalat Hasanov, said that an examination of the bodies of crew members and passengers brought to the country will be carried out.
