State Committee: Azerbaijan-Türkiye fraternal ties flourish thanks to strong leadership PHOTO
Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Religious Institutions Ramin Mammadov has said during his visit to Türkiye that the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye continue thriving.
"The Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations, grounded in their shared ethnic and cultural heritage, continue thriving, propelled by the thoughtful policies of both nations' leaders," Mammadov said during a meeting with Kars Governor Ziya Polat and Kars Municipality Mayor Ötüken Senger, Caliber.Az reports.
The meeting focused on the ongoing collaboration and strengthened ties between the two countries. He underscored that the policies implemented by the leaders of both countries are solidifying the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two nations, promoting mutual respect and collaboration. Additionally, the importance of advocating for Islamic values of peace and tolerance was discussed.
Azerbaijan and Türkiye share deep historical, ethnic, and cultural ties, often referred to as "one nation, two states". Diplomatic relations between the two nations were officially established in 1991. Since then, Azerbaijan and Türkiye have forged a strategic partnership in various fields, including defence, energy, trade, and cultural exchange. Both countries support each other on the international stage, particularly regarding issues important to their national interests.
The bilateral relationship is often marked by cooperation in military and security matters, with joint military exercises and defence agreements in place. Additionally, the two nations have collaborated extensively in energy projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor, which aim to diversify energy supplies to Europe.
