Trump Route set to transform transit between Asia, Europe, says Azerbaijani minister
Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is set to create significant transport and logistics opportunities along the Middle Corridor, the key transit route linking Asia and Europe, while enhancing the region’s supply chain capabilities, said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
Speaking at the 2nd Meeting of the Ministers of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Jabbarov highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative, Caliber.Az reports.
“The joint declaration signed on August 8 in Washington laid the foundation for TRIPP, which will ensure seamless connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. I am confident that this route, as the next critical segment of the Middle Corridor, will become a pivotal transport link, expanding transit opportunities between Asia and Europe, attracting investment to the region, integrating regional countries into global supply chains, and promoting overall prosperity,” Jabbarov stated.
The minister also underscored the significance of the Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic Cable Project, which forms the digital backbone of the Middle Corridor. This initiative, jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, represents a key component of the Digital Silk Road, linking Europe and Asia via a fiber-optic line laid along the Caspian Sea floor.
“By strengthening digital connectivity, accelerating information exchange, and facilitating the integration of Turkic states into the global digital infrastructure, this project will play a transformative role in the region’s development,” Jabbarov emphasized.
